| Elena G. de Murillo Artamendi
This
Basque boardsport specialized translator and journalist was on her way
to become an Interpreter at UNO until snowboarding crossed her way and
lead her to the mountains. Many years searching the endless winter
through the Alps, South America, New Zealand, competing, writing,
shooting and hanging out. She is part of theSurfilm Festibal since its
second edition -communication and translation. She’s a passionate but
lame surfer. Her next life she’d like to be a big wave surfer and ride
Peahi. | | Jamie Brisick
Former
Top 16 ASP surfer and former Surfing magazine editor. He contributes
regularly to The Surfer’s Journal, has a great eye for photos and was
part of the Surfilm Festibal in the past. It was in our second year, in
2004, when he curated “Terciopelo Azul” (Blue velvet), a photo
exhibition on surfing but without surfers riding waves on them. Now
he’s back to Donosti as a Member of the Jury and as a friend. |
| Amatriain / Agote
One
of the members of the Jury will be Amatriain/Agote. How’s that! This
member of the Jury, with a sole vote, is the tow-in duo of Ibon
Amatriain and Mikel Agote. And you are probably asking why we make them
share a single vote in between the two of them? They are one of the
most solid tow-in couples in the world, and together they’ve faced many
risks and crossed many boundaries. So here comes their ultimate
challenge: having to agree on who to vote for. | | Koldo Serra
Koldo
Serra de la Torre is a film Director and the author of “El Bosque de
las Sombras / The Backwoods”. He has also directed several short films
(Amor de madre, El Tren de la Bruja), video clips (Estopa, Extremoduro,
El Sueño de morfeo) and commercials and tv programs. | | Juan Fernández
Juan
got interested in photography was he was 15 years-old. Some months
later he got his first published shot in a surf mag. Since then he’s
specialized as a surf journalist and photographer within the surf
industry, both for editorial and ads, nationally and internationally.
He is, without a doubt, the best surf photographer + journalist in
Spain of today and that’s why we wanted to have him and his keen eye
and criteria on board as member of the Jury. www.juanfernandezfotografo.com | | Josean Lizarraga
He
took off in the early 80s, on a bodyboard, but soon moved on to a
kneeboard alter watching some ozzie kneelos at Gros (Donosti). He hasn’t
stopped since, winters included. He first stood up in 94; a 7 footer
and now he’s got a huge quiver in his garage: from 5’5 to 9’8 singles,
twinfins, trifins, quads, bonzers, hulls, triplanehulls, longboards…
and he likes them all. He’s also the proud owner of a huge collection
of surf flicks. | |

is a collective project of “surfing antropology”. Six friends get
together and launch the website in January 2008 setting up a platform
that creates, produces and picks up all sorts of “surf” related content
from different sources and typologies. It takes shape through the
concept of “online social network”. <Oeste is communications,
community and cooperation within the surf world. www.oestesurf.com |
