The Surfilm Festibal® is the oldest surf film and culture festival, and takes place every summer in Donostia-San Sebastián. It was born in 2003 with the intention of showing the very best surf films, beyond the commercial video clips that had invaded the screens from the 80s onwards. Since then we?ve worked along the best surfilm directors and producers and managed to screen the very best of the genre, both commercial and independent, but always top quality stuff. Traditionally the first day of the Surfilm Festibal® is devoted to the Environment and the struggle to save our waves and coastline all over the world; for this we try to bring some of the best experts available. The Surfilm Festibal® also organizes surf art exhibitions and holds the FestiBaila®, two crazy nights of live music. Because we think there is a lot of creativity out there that never sees its way to the big screen, we created the Surf Short Film Competition, a competition open to everyone ?pros and ams alike- but where the originality and the imagination at work are more important than the means and resources used.

As a spitting-mirror image to the original vibe of surfing, the Surfilm Festibal® is a very laid-back event of which the spectators that fill the theatre year after year are the stars. Thanks to all.
