Tommy Carrol has been skating since he was ten, but a late diagnosis of cancer of the retinas left him blind since the age of two. Even though he has no memory of being able to see, and people from school were telling him: “You’re going to kill yourself. Blind people can’t skateboard.” He managed to skate with a competence that even more seasoned practitioners would envy.
