Surfing first started in Spain between the Cantabrian region and the Basque Country. An active group of pioneers emerged in Santander, creating a connection between this city and other places such as Zarautz, Bilbao and Donostia.
Today, surfers loosely move around every beach located between Hondarribia and Estaca de Bares. Some of our waves are marked on the global map of “world class” waves; people from all over the world visit us searching our waves, also drawn by our culture, food and traditions. We have an idiosyncrasy, a very peculiar approach to surfing, and we also take along our style to every corner of the surfing world map.
Through 28 images, and in a very spectacular format, this exhibition aims to bring closer instants, action, atmospheres, urban beaches, wild waves, local surfers, images often not accessible for the public eye, unaware of the unique and fascinating world of surfing.
