Rio Breaks tells the story of two good friends, Fabio and Nama, how they deal with daily life miseries in a Brazilian favela and enjoy the waves at their favourite beach. Their goal: to win a contest and to become professional surfers. It is much more than a surf film; it is about friendship, tough life conditions at the Brazilian favela where drug traffic and violence make the laws, and how surfing can become a driving force.
