The documentary Free flip flop fish is about an extraordinary art project called Skeleton Sea. It’s a film about artists and surfers who use their installations and sculptures to raise awareness for the ongoing pollution and destruction of the ocean.

They create an artificial fish made out of old flip flops washed on to the beaches of the island of Fuerteventura.

After the sculpture is finished, the artists release it into the sea. The idea behind setting free an artificial plastic fish is to provoke and make people think about the effects of the garbage into the seas. If we don’t care about our ocean the fish of the future will be made out of plastic. Garbage will bet the fish of the future.
